2006 Liberty Bay Cellars Columbia Valley Syrah
Opaque, deep purple, and reminiscent of a Rhone syrah without the earthiness, the 2006 Syrah is a blend from three diverse climate vineyards; Conner Lee and Stillwater Creek Vineyards in the Columbia Valley and Elephant Mountain Vineyard in the Yakima Valley.
This is no cream puff red wine. Black currant and black olive with a freshening balance of fruit and acid come together in our 2006 Syrah that can stand alone as a quaffing beverage. We have found it a superb pairing with grilled duck.
1.5 years on neutral oak and 6 months in bottle, this wine is ready to drink now or bottle age for 3-5 years. 194 cases produced. Released in October 2008. $24.50
2005 Liberty Bay Cellars Conner Lee Merlot
Black plum envelopes the nose and palate on the opening of our 2005 Merlot, followed by a rich velvety texture that lingers long on a creamy vanilla, mid-palate. Visitors at the winery often remark about the merlot's smooth mouth feel while remaining long and silky on the finish. Intense color. A deep ruby is enhanced by vivid clarity and bright as a summer's day in reflection.
"My best wine to date."- Winemaker, Dave Prigmore.
